How does LASIK surgery correct my vision problem?
Nearsighted treatments flatten the cornea, farsighted treatments steepen the cornea and astigmatism treatment changes the contour of the cornea from football shaped to basketball shaped. Using a cool-beam excimer laser, we are able to reshape the cornea to resolve these vision problems.
How do I know if I am a good candidate and which procedure is best for me?
If you are 20 years of age or older and have a stable prescription, you are likely to be a good candidate. We perform a consultation to determine if laser vision correction is right for you.
If I wear contact lenses, do I need to leave them out a while?
Depending upon the type of contact lens you wear, and how long you have worn contacts, you will be asked to remove your contacts anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks prior to your consultation.
How soon can I go back to work? How much down time?
Visual recovery following LASIK surgery is fast. We ask that you rest immediately after your procedure by sleeping 3 hours uninterrupted. You can resume your normal activities as soon as the next day following surgery with a few exceptions.
